Partial shadows hang on the fringes of the frame, creating a sense of impending dread & anxiety, as if on the verge of a grim waking dream. A waking dream is an experience you have while you are awake that feels similar to dreaming. An experience the artist herself is all too familiar with, in which she channels these imagined images through, They Lurk.

The eerie monochromatic etchings illustrate a series of masked characters situated indoors while interacting with an electronic device, seemingly absorbed in their activity and unaware of the haunting atmosphere of the physical world. The artist uses very small scratch marks to create the illusion of linen; it is a meditative process that alludes to stitching together an outfit, giving the space in which the subject matter/character is placed.
